Our body is a very fine antenna for the most subtle signals and reveals an array of non-verbal signals that are interpreted immediately as congruent (or not) with our verbal messages. So…becoming consciously able to ‘hold the bio-psycho tension’ in yourself with awareness is the basic capability for then choosing a response proactively rather than reactively.
Interestingly, much research has revealed that our bodies have ways of knowing that are not directly connected to our conscious mind in ways that can support new perspectives and inform our possibilities for making meaning and different choices (a sense-making process). In short, utilizing our body in ways that can offer experiences that our conscious mind had not considered before…our body and our mind are not separate, they are necessarily interdependent. Becoming more aware and practiced in noticing our body sensations, habits, and patterns – and the meaning we make – can assist in opening new insights, intuition and choice-making versatility. In short, our body-mind relationship is key in how each person is showing up at any moment in life’s unfolding.
This seminar offers in depth grounding exercises as a basis for holding tension and take embodied decisions including working/coaching with each other and in depth reflection on the learning
This offering is new and different: It is an applied learning and direct experience format, a three-part series that is designed to build foundation progressively for the interdependent integration of each subsequent session.
In each two-hour session, you will explore and be guided through a practice, debriefing it with everyone else, and given a handout with detailed guidance and the session audio/video to accompany practicing at home in between sessions.
Since each session builds upon the prior and your practicing in between, the first session will be required in order for you to attend all three sessions.
Dates for this seminar: Tuedsays - Jan 28, Feb 4 and Feb 18, 2025.
You can do the first session without the next 2, but not vice versa
