Evolution towards Teal + How to Liberate the true potential in your organization

Our world today is VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous) and rapidly changing into a complexity it has never known before. The insights in Frédéric Laloux’ ‘Reinventing Organizations’ (2014) illustrate the abundance of successful possibilities for dealing with this complexity in innovative, integral ways by creating more liberating people-centric organizations. The aim of this input is to inspire you with the basic principles of the Teal paradigm, which is not just another “system”, tool or bundle of “tips and tricks” to make organizations better. It is the dot on the horizon we can collectively evolve towardsin order to contribute to a more humane and values-based society. Erwin will present a number of very successful examples of Teal organizations, as well as some of the challenges he and his own team have met on the way to make the transition to Teal principles.

Shortbio

Erwin van Waelegham (* 1960) has a fulltime position as police commissioner and criminologist in the City of Leuven (Belgium). He is also a co-president of the international Teal for Teal Foundation, co-founder of the Belgian branch of the Semco Style Institute, and of the Belgium Tilts movement, as well as the initiator of several initiatives towards more people centric and values based leadership within all sectors of society. Erwin has successfully transformed the police force in Leuven towards the Teal model of organization and is currently advising colleagues from all over the country and across Europe to do the same. He therefore sees himself as a “Tealspirator” and International Inspirational Steward.
