Harvesting Complexity - Approaches, Tools & Applications in Technology and Organisations:
Even though many of you might be familiar with the benefits of integral theory, self-organisation or approaches to navigating complexity, these principles are still relatively unknown in many organisations and companies - or at least not applied consistently.
Yet, trying to explain them first has proven to be counterproductive. We cannot convey an experience by talking about it. So, our approach is to apply those frameworks and only explain in terms of the immediate situation at hand.
During the first part of this Colloquium, Collin Bootsveld will present a number of practical applications of frameworks that allow us to “harvest” the complexity connected to the challenges in his engineering work and the organisational structures around it. These practical applications show that the theory then becomes relevant in daily life, which motivates people to learn more about it. Further practical application then helps to internalized these the principles in our being.
In the second part of the colloquium, Bettina Geiken will guide the participants through an interactive practical experience of recognizing different domains of complexity and making sense in each of them.
